My heart is at home in conversations that release taboo, shame, and mis-truths and yield compassion, understanding, and self-acceptance.
Speaking from the experience of overcoming my own sexual assault, depression, and alcohol abuse – then growing a successful business taking a stand for women’s sexual pleasure and a celebrating of female orgasms as a path to healing and freedom. I’ve worked hundreds of women to re-connect them to their wholeness, trust of pleasure, and sense of vitality. I love connecting with audiences of all ages around all things related to holistic sexuality.
CREATIVE. COMPASSIONATE. COMPELLING.
Is your community seeking a new approach to ending pervasive and dangerous misogynistic culture?
Is your campus desiring a celebration of pleasure and a way to heal personal and societal wounds?
High Schools, Colleges & Universities, Greek Life, and Athletic Teams, these game-changing talks and workshops are specifically designed for you.
The Landscape and Need for Change:
Landscape of Sexual Assault on College Campuses – an epidemic.
The Bureau of Justice Statistics (2017) found that as many as one in four women experience sexual assault at college, though the vast majority never report it.
At some of the schools, the rate of sexual assault was as high as one in two.
These assaults are crimes that not only violate Title IX as well as State and Federal Law but can lead to lifelong struggle for student survivors. The impact of this violence is immense – directly leading to depression, addictions, and other serious mental health concerns, increased dropout rates and decreased academic performance.
Workshops for truth and healing are imperative for the health and safety of campus life.*
*Because of these realities on college campuses, it is equally important to address, educate, and prepare High School students. Workshops and lectures are catered for the age appropriateness of audience.
MY APPROACH: Thought provoking, Informative, Accessible.
These workshops are structured to maximize attendance, engagement, and efficacy. I bring a unique blend of knowledge, humor, and interaction that makes students feel safe, engaged, and open to receiving the material.
Impact and Prevalence of Mainstream Pornography:
College students land on campus having already been shaped and influenced by the tropes and norms of mainstream pornography. In the absence of adequate sex education for teenagers, students are left starting their undergraduate experiences deeply confused around the complexity of their human sexuality and are also often left with dangerous misconceptions around real world sex, particularly consent.
WORKSHOPS & ENGAGED LECTURES:
Please note that all trainings can be customized to best meet your needs. I typically request 90 minutes per training. In addition, all trainings can be conducted for large audiences or done as workshops with smaller groups. Trainings on healing modalities such as meditation, movement practices, and energy and breath work are not included below but can be provided upon request.
This is a highly engaging and powerful workshop. Students, often for the first time in their lives, are asked to do a deep dive exploration of their best case scenarios for sexual and intimate encounters. Pleasure and positivity are explored openly and honestly and set as the North-star for sex, whether within hookup culture or long-term relationships.
When we only talk about what we don’t want, we only emphasize the harmful and traumatic aspects of human sexuality. It’s time to teach an honoring and expectation of pleasure – including a celebration of women’s sexual pleasure and female orgasms – to restructure our understanding of consent.
2. FROZEN: Fight, Flight, & Freeze.
Society often prioritizes the responses of fight and fight but ignores the evolution-biology validity of a freeze response. In this workshop we explore the need to understand and honor freeze as a way of preventing and healing from sexual violence. Because without honoring the significance of ALL three responses, particularly FREEZE, we shroud victims in narratives of guilt, shame, and self-blame. It’s in fully understanding and appreciating the freeze response, that students can more deeply and effectively explore areas of non-consent and consent. This workshop is a strong balance of where science and healing meet.
3. Pornography & Human Sexuality: What Porn Gets Right and What Porn Gets Wrong.
In an era when we’ve turned mainstream pornography into our default sex educator, we’ve left students deeply confused and mislead in regards to the distinct differences between porn, fantasy, and real world desires. In this multi-media workshop, students come into awareness that mainstream porn is designed with specificity around male masturbatory arousal. Porn is neither education nor is it a script or expectation for real life experiences. Most male first-year students have been watching porn for over ten years. The lack of sex education and porn awareness is creating a vacuum for assault and violence. The time for this open, honest, and informed dialogue is now. for that to change.
4. Positive Media: Role Models to Rewire Our Brains and Expectations.
Considering the ubiquity of pervasive, alarming, and negative messaging of mainstream media, how do we seek out and celebrate positive messaging? This workshop explores the importance of accepting that we are what we consume and we can consume in a manner that yields positivity. This workshop is multimedia and interactive. It engages students on how best to analyze the media whist informing them on how to maximize its beneficial consumer effects.
