Choice is a beautiful thing: we get to decide between chai lattes or green tea at the coffee shop, gin or prosecco at the bar, and Egyptian cotton or flannel for our bedsheets. But if you’re like some of us, an abundance of choices can put a damper on decision making.
Which is part of what makes being kind to yourself and bringing yourself pleasure every day a challenge. There are infinite ways to go about it – so how do you pick?
Well, you could do like Carrie Herzner. She’s narrowed down three things that she would love to do every day – yoga, a nap, and sex – and aims for one, if not all, to make each day perfect.
Why yoga, a nap, and sex? Here is just one reason for each, according to Carrie:
Yoga inspires awareness of all that is around you and confidence in your body.
Naps reduce stress, quiet the mind, and refresh the spirit.
Sex allows us to take time out of our often hectic schedules to connect and strengthen the emotional bond with our partner. When you take time to intimately express the love you have for each other, you also tune in to the love you have for yourself.
